What You'll Find Here

For West Highland Way walkers the village is one of the best places on the Way to stop. When you reach Tyndrum you can relax in the knowledge that you have already walked more than half the way and the worst bits, low level walking through tree rooted forest along Loch Lomondside, are behind you, and the best bits, across Rannoch Moor, through Glencoe, up the Devil's staircase to Kinlochleven then through the Mamore hills into Fort William, is just ahead.

Winter Ben Lui

For hillwalkers there are dozens of Munros and Corbetts within half an hour including Ben Lui, Ben Oss and Ben Duchraig which can all be walked from the door-step (or the tent-flap if you're a camper). Munros apart there are also a good number of high and low level walks in the area.

Apart from the attractions for walkers the Tyndrum area also has plenty to offer cyclists (with a new Killin to Tyndrum mountain bike route currently at the planning stage), canoeists, fishermen, and photographers (the village sits at the north end of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and at the south end of Glencoe, the Glen of Weeping, - combine that with the light conditions found in Scotland and you can't take a bad photograph). For skiers the Glencoe Ski Centre is about half an hour away and Nevis range can be reached in just over an hour.
